From that first moment you lock eyes, to the first giggles, to exploratory crawls, to steps: there's a reason so many of us feel compelled to at least do a photo a month to document all this very visible growing! But so much changes for you, too: maybe daycare or a nanny steps in to help as you all return to work, maybe everyone starts getting a little more sleep. There's always a new phase just around the corner, and you grow, learn, and adjust together as a family.

Milestone & Family session
Katie and nick in somerville
I've been photographing Katie and Nick's family since their first child was a baby, then through the pregnancy of their second, and now a milestone session for their second with the whole family! They wanted to return to the scene of their marriage at a park in Somerville. We got to take some quick headshots for Katie there as well (an optional add-on to any session)!

Milestone session
Lisa & Adam in Boston
Lisa and Adam welcomed their daughter Sophia in July. They're both music lovers and piano players, and adept at holding a baby and playing at the same time! Their Medford home is right across the street from an entrance into the Fells where they walk often, so we followed their in-home session with a quick walk in the woods. Sophia didn't seem to mind.

Outdoor newborn session
Alex and daniel in allston
Daniel gifted Alex a photo session with their newly 3 month old, Joanna, for Mother's Day. We captured them outside their perfect purple Allston home overflowing with blue hydrangeas and then took a walk to the nearby newly opened Library Park, where lots of cuddles ensued.

IN-home Milestone session
Alisa and Chisson in Needham
Alisa and Chisson have a daughter and 1 year old twins: we met up on the day of their first birthday party for a quick family portrait session playing in their backyard, ending with a first experience of cake that somehow got all over everyone's faces, not just the twins'!

Mama & Me
Sarah & Sasha
in the studio
Sarah already had a sweet 3 year old running around the house when Sasha was born, and she booked a "Mama & Me" studio session as a Mother's Day gift to herself. I love how these sessions in particular are often described as therapeutic, and can really be exactly what you need them to be ... whether that's glammed up in a new dress with a hair and makeup artist onsite to make sure you're at your glowingest best: or rolled out of bed 5 minutes ago, shirt on backwards and pump in hand.

Milestone Session
Emily and Dave in the Acton arboretum
Baby Zachary has a huge fan club between his parents, doting grandmothers, and loving aunt. Emily's sister Caitlin gifted her this session from across the country, and in return Emily asked that we schedule it for a time when Caitlin was in town. We met up at the Acton Arboretum around Zachary's first birthday, just as the first tulips were coming up.

So many moments in parenthood feel absolutely, beautifully unforgettable. They wrap right into our DNA and change us; we relive them often and tell them as family stories. A song comes on the radio and it forever transports us to late nights rocking the baby to that particular refrain.
Photographs allow us to take our loved ones with us into the memory. One of my favorite things growing up was going through my parents' pictures of us together when I was a baby. I still look at them with wonder; the photos feel like they are the key to something. I glean something new every time I revisit them, like a sacred text that illuminates new truths with different contexts and perspectives.
And here's the wonderful, tragic truth: often times, we think we'll remember every single precious detail, but with time together new beautiful memories crowd in. How small were those little hands? How did your first child react when meeting your second? And equally importantly: what did you look like back then? How did you look at them?
My passion is making authentic images that will be precious to you today, five, ten, fifteen and forty years from now; and also, priceless to all the people in this family you're creating forever.
Call me old-fashioned but I really love to connect by a phone call first: I just find it's the fastest way to give you all the information about how I work, answer any questions you might have, and just get to know each other a little bit to make sure I'm the right photographer for you. You can select a preferred date and time on my contact page and I'll call you then! Consultation calls take 15 to 20 minutes; barking dogs, loud children, and cooing or fussy babies are totally welcome background additions.
Hate phone calls? Love reading? Send me an email and I'll respond within 1 business day with all my process and pricing information and some basic questions to make sure we're a great fit.
1. Say Hello
2. Reserving your date
At the end of our call, I'll let you know some dates I have open in the time frame you're looking for. We'll pencil you in and I'll send you my contract and invoice for your session fee; once you've signed and paid, your date is officially reserved in my calendar!
I only schedule one family in a given day and two family sessions in a given week to allow for flexibility around things like weather, babies' changing nap times, and toddlers' happiest times of day. If you need to change your session time as we get closer to your date you can just let me know!
Don't know what to wear? How clean to make your house? Don't worry, I'm here for you every step of the way!
Once your date is reserved, I'll send you my pre-session questionnaire to help us finalize any details about our time together, as well as my preparation guide with suggestions on what to wear, how to talk to your kids about a photo session and get yourself in a great mindset, snack ideas, and how to "pretend-tidy" a room.
I'll check in on you a week before your session to make sure all your outfits are ready and offer any feedback if you want it, and the day before I'll confirm our meetup time and location (and if we need to make alternate weather plans, I'll offer some options).
3. helping you prepare
Hip hip hooray, it's photo session day! Whether we're meeting at your home, my studio, a favorite park, bookstore, mountain climb, or sledding trip, I'll be waiting for you at our meeting spot excited to catch up with you and meet your family members. If the location is your home or a favorite place with your kids, I may ask them to give me a tour.
I don't rush into taking pictures immediately. We'll chat, find a great spot and try some things, then move on to another idea! The average session lasts a little over an hour.
4. let's do it!
Within two weeks of your photo session date, I'll send you an email letting you know your slideshow of beautiful edited images is ready to view. I will be super excited. You will be super excited. It's a party!
Once you've watched your slideshow (maybe five or twenty times, maybe crying each time, maybe that's just me) and shared the link with any family members who might also love to see it, you'll be able to make an informed decision on which of the three collections I offer that you'd like to purchase. Each collection includes a certain number of digital files, and a bonus value of print credit — I want to make sure you come out of your session not just with pretty jpegs, but something tangible that your children and future generations are going to cherish for years to come.
5. your photographs
heirloom artwork and albums
Collections start at just $1250
I believe in clear, simple pricing; I charge a small session fee of $375 for our time together, and you only pay for the images you want after you've seen them! All collections include a generous print credit to get those images out of the digital world and into heirloom-quality prints you can cherish in your hands and admire on your walls.
AHH! I keep going through these while Sasha is in daycare and swooning. I love them so much. What a treasure; They just totally capture our light together and I cannot wait to hang some of these up to look at every day.
What will I think in ten years? That question from your getting ready email kind of has been kicking around in me.. I get a little nostalgic while I look at the photos even though I'm living these moments right now.
You're amazing; thank you for sharing your gift.

Sarah
Adrianne is BRILLIANT, and her work is truly EXCEPTIONAL.
She listened carefully to our requests and then followed us around our home, and the rest was magic. She is a highly-skilled photographer and a true artist with the ability to capture the most precious and intimate family moments.
Our boys loved interacting with Adrianne, she was so good with them, easygoing, and playful.
We are so grateful that we chose her to capture our family. She has now taken our photos for the second year in a row, and we will continue to work with her because there is truly no one else like her.

Oh Adrianne, these are so wonderful!!
So beautifully done and the coloring is superb. You even captured some of our chaos! We now have to pick which ones we want to blow up and print, and that’s going to be a tough decision because there isn’t a bad photo in the whole bunch. Thank you so much!

Adrianne's a photographer with soul. It's an amazing thing to see the world through her eyes. She puts you at ease, embraces the weird and funky and intimate, and makes you look more like yourself than you ever thought possible, completely joyful in the presence of your favorite people. I kind of wish she lived in my closet so that she could capture my family all the time.

Adrianne! I didn't get a chance to email you officially (though I've obviously already shared some images over social media) but we LOVE the photo gallery! You made us look like models! So grateful that you captured our family in this way at this time. It changes so fast, but we really will have fond memories of this time with our son, before everything "goes back to normal."
